For years I’ve heard that it’s illegal to operate a motor vehicle barefoot. I learned to drive that way and if you’ve got on flip flops it’s almost a necessity. I really love it. I can’t really tell you why but I prefer driving while I can feel the petals under my toes.
I really want to find the place where it says that it is illegal to drive without shoes. Although I don’t think it will change my habits it would be nice to know if I’m eluding the law on a regular basis.
You can search kansas laws here: http://www.kslegislature.org/legsrv-statutes/index.do
I searched both “barefoot” and “shoe” and got nothing. Unless it’s a federal law, I think you’re good. I think they teach it in drivers ed because of some wives tale safety thing.
