Today is Hubby’s birthday. If it is anything like the last two years he will be working hard (not different from the other 365 days of the year) and probably find himself taking a tow to Junction City. On this day for the last two years he has done this. Not on purpose mind you but it just works out that way. It’s not a short trip either.
So what did his super wife pack for him today? Fresh baked cookies wrapped all pretty. Oh and to make sure they didn’t die a crumbly death I put them in a paper coffee cup to protect their tender goodness.
I’m planning on his favorite dinner tonight and a road trip is set for Sunday. We will be going out to a couple of small towns in beautiful central Kansas. I love exploring the country. 🙂
Happy birthday to the hardest working man I know!
I’ve talked before about how long I’ve been married and if you remember we decided to use hubby’s math on this one. So with that reminder I wish my dear hard working husband a happy 8th anniversary! Big plans you ask? Yes, but you’ll have to wait a bit for details.
Here’s the short list of things I have on my plate at the moment. Some are new and others not so much. I have two dogs, a husband that is in and out 24/7 (gotta love being a small business owner), I’m a home owner, I work my fab 40 hours a week, I take a class at the local college (physiology isn’t for wimps), and there’s the online class I have a ton of work for each week. Add all of that to keeping up with errands and friends so no one thinks I’ve died from lack of communication and you have a frazzled version of me.
Now, I’m not complaining in the least. I’ve just been itching to start a new (and very large) project. One that will take a huge amount of time and concentration. Here’s my question to all of you. At what point do you delve into what you really want to do knowing that some of what you need to do might become less important by doing so? I need suggestions people.
I really love federal holidays. Long weekends are great for relaxing and recharging. Having already awoken to the sounds that only a coon hound can make when he really needs out I decided to make some breakfast for R to wake up to. I haven’t made oatmeal muffins in quite a long time so out comes the recipe book. I have the batter all ready and I’m just finishing cleaning up (the oven isn’t quite up to temp yet) when I hear R’s phone go off. He answers in his business voice so I know it’s not going to be a quiet day at home. Nope! Someone has left their car in the middle of a street going the wrong way. Looks like someone has started the Labor Day drinking a few days ago! Oh well. As he runs out the door he asks me if I’m still planning on going to the shop to wash the girls. Of course! I just love washing creatures that outweigh me by a hundred pounds! At least the muffins were a consolation prize. So tasty!
So I’m off now to wash the babies and deliver some of the yummy muffins to my dear overworked husband! Have a great Labor Day!
